The Ambassador of the
Kingdom of Cambodia
MESSAGE
Dear Investors,
I would like to
inform you that I have been appointed Cambodian Ambassador to the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. As Ambassador, I intend
to do my utmost to further promote and strengthen the friendly ties that
already exists between Cambodia and United Kingdom. In addition to this,
it is my particular objective to encourage British Companies to conduct
business with Cambodia in the area of investment and tourism.
Upon its formation
in 2004, the Cambodian Government formulated its Platform for the Third
Term, 2004-2008. As an invitation to investors, the Cambodian Government,
having identified investment as the driving force behind the economy,
established the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) to promote
and facilitate investment in the country.
Today, Cambodia
offers some of the most attractive incentive and the most liberal legislation
for investors of any country in the region and has many opportunities
for producing a wide range of products-from clothing and footwear to hydroelectric
power. Investing in Cambodia does have certain advantages over other countries
in the region e.g. the tax rate, speed of processing, currency convertibility
and degree of bureaucratic involvement are favourable when compared to
our neighbouring countries.
Tourism is one
of the most significant investment opportunities and potential sources
of foreign capital in Cambodia. Cambodia is also fortunate to be located
in a part of the region with some of the strongest tourism growth in the
world and the Angkor Wat is just one of tourism products of particular
interest to visitors to Cambodia by its historic heritage that holds great
appeal for visitors.
Cambodia would
welcome receiving a visit from your company and my Embassy will keep in
mind in any assistance you may further require.
I look forward to meeting with you in the near future.
Sincerely yours,
HOR Nambora
